When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and encrypted password. We may also collect your IP address for security purposes (rate limiting, abuse prevention). Profile information you provide (avatar, bio, status) is stored and displayed publicly unless you set your profile to private.
We use your information to provide and improve ChatModus, prevent abuse, and communicate important service updates. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. Messages, files, and profile data are stored in MongoDB. Files are hosted on cloud storage providers. We retain your data as long as your account is active.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. This will permanently remove your messages, rooms, and profile data. You can also view and manage your blocked users list.
ChatModus uses essential cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. A session cookie is used to keep you signed in.
